The Inside Story from National Geographic Photographer Joel Sartore's Studio

Joel enters the blogosphere

Perhaps it’s a little jealously over the Assistant’s Journal, or maybe the time is finally right.  Joel asked for a blog, so here we go.  I’ll be turning the keys over to him shortly.  Expect photos, links to projects, and the occasional freeform piece on the wonders of architectural salvage.

    Joel,

Congratulations of the new blog. I’m a really big fan of your work and I could never thank you enough for the images that you’ve given us in National Geographic. I’ve seen the On Assignment special a bunch of times and I was truly inspired by it to take my own photography to another level. I was so touched and impressed by your latest work in NG (Countdown) that my wife and I gave out 4 more subscriptions to the magazine as gifts. We so glad that Kathy is doing great after her experience with cancer. Our best to you and your wife Kathy and all of your family. We’ll be thinking about all of you this coming year and we’ll be looking forward to your new work.

    Thanks,

Well Joel I can tell you that you job spreading the word is working when I heard you speak in Ca.and I got back to Texas we got a 40 mpg car my wife a I car pool every day now. Then we change all the light blubs to engery saving blubs in our house and told all of our family members to do the same. That sell was easy I told them it is just like putting money in your pocket. Now at lunch every day we share ideas on how to do more to cut our waste and make a difference. This was easy to do. (well not the car pooling).
    Keep up the good work
